96% of teachers agree that eating breakfast is extremely important in order for students to concentrate, behave, and preform academically (source: www.strength.org/teachers). This is just one meal. Many students on the free and reduced lunch program are not eating meals outside of school. This has led many of our local Annapolis Schools to provide not only lunch but also breakfast and in some schools even dinner.
This run will benefit students in Annapolis by providing meals for them to take home from school. The entry cost is $35. With your entry you will receive a moisture-wicking t-shirt, race packet with coupons, and you will provide weekend meals for 12 students. You can also choose to donate money above and beyond that cost that will go directly to feeding hungry students in our city.
The race will begin at Bates Middle School at 8 AM on August 17th. Packet pick-up will be located at Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis on Friday, August 16 from 3:30pm - 6:30pm. You may also register at Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis during packet pick-up, or the morning of the race from 7AM - 7:45AM.
After the race we will be packaging 10,000 weekend meals that will go into Annapolis schools. This will happen at Bates Middle school immediately following the race (9:30 AM) and will be open to everyone who would like to attend (PLEASE NOTE: you do not have to run the race in order to pack meals).
If you questions about the race please email: ken@feedannapolis.com.
